SOUTH PORTLAND — A few spaces remain for a three-day course for educators that will feature hands-on activities geared to grades 4-6, relevant children’s literature and current scientific data.

The instructor for “Exploring the Ocean Through Science and Children’s Literature” will be Mary Cerullo, children’s book author and associate director of Friends of Casco Bay. The course fee of $150 covers three days of instruction, a chartered boat trip on Casco Bay and more than $100 in books and materials. CEUs ($20) and dorm rooms ($60/person/night) are also available.

The course will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, June 27-29 at Southern Maine Community College.
