PORTLAND — Richard W. Chantrill, 81, of Ocean Street, South Portland, died Saturday, June 18, at Maine Medical Center.

He was born on Dec. 24, 1929, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, a son of William F. and Viola (Holsclaw).

He is survived by his loving wife, Lucille; a son, John F. Chantrill and his wife, Rosaria, of Auburn; a granddaughter, Jennifer Chantrill, of Seattle, Wash.; and a grandson, Nathan Chantrill, U.S. Army, of Ft. Bragg, N.C.
