NORWAY — J. Roger Ketchum, 78, of Norway died Sunday, June 19, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Bowdoinham, June 14, 1933, the son of John R. and Esther Quirke Ketchum. He graduated from Morse High School in Bath, where he recently celebrated his 60th reunion. He served our country in the U.S. Navy. He married Rosalie Duclos on Sept. 22, 1956. He worked with his father building houses and carried the U.S. Mail before becoming an accountant.
He retired from P. H. Chadbourne Co. in 1998. He was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Church, where he served on the finance committee for 25 years. He was treasurer of Norway Country Club for 9 years, a member of the Norway/Paris Kiwanis Club and was a Corporator for Norway Savings Bank.
He is survived by his wife of Norway; son, Thomas Ketchum and his wife, Caron, of Wrentham, Mass.; daughter, Patricia Leino and her husband, Murray, of Poland; son, James Ketchum and his wife, Tricia, of Foxborough, Mass.; daughter, Sally Alworth and her husband, Jeff, of Portland, Ore.; son, Douglas Ketchum and his fiancee, Melissa Dempster, of Ashton, Md.; and son, Brian Ketchum and his wife, Erin, of Westford, Mass.; eight grandchildren, Steven and Sara Ketchum, Elizabeth and Zoe Leino, Kristina and Molly Ketchum, Samuel and Charlotte Ketchum; and two sisters, Shirley Jordan and her husband, Bruce and Ellen Ketchum, all of Portland.
He was predeceased by a brother, Edward.
