LIVERMORE FALLS – Police are investigating a report of a bomb threat Monday night that closed Pike’s Corner Oasis convenience store and service station on Route 133 for more than an hour.

No bomb was found, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.

Pike’s got a call from someone who sounded like a young male at about 6:48 p.m. stating “’there is a bomb in the store,’” Steward said.

Pike’s representatives called police and they in return contacted the Fire Department, which stood by at the East Livermore Post Office, Steward said.

A Maine State Police trooper and a dog trained in bomb detection were also called in.

The building was turned back to owners at about 8 p.m., he said.
