CANTON — Voters will meet Saturday, June 25, at the Municipal Building at 9 a.m. to act on a budget for 2010-11.

Total appropriations in the warrant are approximately $508,488, compared to $501,000 last year, Town Clerk Kathy Hutchins said.

One article on the warrant asks for an easement to access the proposed boat launch being funded by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

Another asks for money to maintain the Municipal Building. Selectmen and the Budget Committee are recommending $8,670.

At the June 14 referendum, all questions were approved except one asking that all meetings involving municipal business be videotaped. It lost by two votes, Hutchins said.

Voters approved a six-month budget in March because the town was switching its fiscal year from the calendar to a July 1-to-June 30 format to coincide with the school system’s.
