CARTHAGE — New England Celtic Arts will bring the internationally acclaimed traditional Celtic band The Outside Track to three concert venues this month.

Using fiddle, accordion, harp, guitar, flute, step dance and vocals, the five virtuosos blend boundless energy with unmistakable joie de vivre. Their repertoire includes Canadian, Scottish and Irish music.

Hailing from Scotland, Ireland, Cape Breton and Vancouver, the five band members are united by a love of traditional music and a commitment to creating new music on its foundation.

The Outside Track will perform at 6 p.m. Monday, June 27, at Fisherman’s Wharf Inn in Boothbay Harbor (tickets for dinner/concert: $25); at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, at Skye Theatre, South Carthage (tickets: $15); and at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 30, at Unity College for the Performing Arts in Unity (tickets: $15).

Making up the band are Norah Rendell, who has a master’s degree in Irish traditional music from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, where she was a lecturer in music theory, ear training, voice and flute; and Ailie Robertson, a composer, arranger, teacher, improviser and harp virtuoso who is regarded as one of Scotland’s leading young traditional musicians.

Also, Fiona Black, who earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in Irish music and dance from the University of Limerick in Ireland; Cillian O’Dalaigh, also a Limerick graduate who has toured extensively in Ireland, Germany, France and the United Kingdom as both a guitarist and flute player; and Ivonne Hernandez, who plays violin, guitar, piano, cello, flute and percussion and is the reigning five-time Grand North American Fiddle Champion.
