DIXFIELD — The 6-foot-long red-tail boa constrictor that went AWOL from its owner’s residence on Jacob Alley on June 11 has been captured, police Chief Richard Pickett said.

The snake was spotted sunning itself not many yards from where it escaped, Pickett said. The owner was notified and captured it.

Animal Control Officer Ann Edmunds was notified of the capture, he said.

“The snake has found a new residence in Mexico,” Pickett said.
