HARTFORD — The property tax rate for 2011-12 is expected to rise from $15 to $16, because of the Regional School Unit 10 budget, Lee Holman, chairwoman of the Board of Selectmen, said Tuesday.

The town budget total is still being calculated after Thursday night’s annual town meeting, which saw voters cut many social service agency requests, she said.

The American Red Cross requested $500 and got nothing. The Rural Community Action Ministry request of $2,200 was cut to $1,000; Community Concepts asked for $2,000 and got $1,000; and Safe Voices’ request for $500 was rejected.

Voters also declined to give Hartford Youth Sports $2,500, but did approve $1,500 for the Hartford News town newsletter.

Selectman Jack Plumley and road commissioner Jeremy Johnson were re-elected, as were Budget Committee members David Bowen, Robert L’Heureux, Neil Hanley and Daniel Maddox. Harley Swanson was elected after Leslie Boness declined her nomination.
