RUMFORD — Stephany Jacques, RN, OCN, has recently achieved certification in adult oncology nursing. Jacques has been a registered nurse for four years. She has served oncology and hematology patients since 2009.

She lives in Peru.

Jacques joins oncology nurses Patricia Perry, RN, OCN, and Tamara Breton, RN, OCN, who gained certification previously. Perry, of Rumford, has been a nurse at Rumford Hospital since 1967 and has devoted herself to the Lariviere Oncology Suite since 2006. She has also worked on the medical surgical unit.

Breton, a Rumford Hospital nurse for six years, has worked in the Oncology Suite since 2007. She lives in Roxbury.

The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation, a member of the American Board of Nursing Specialties, administers a written examination that nurses are eligible to sit for after two years of experience in oncology nursing. With successful completion of the exam, nurses are certified and are granted permission to use the OCN credential. Certification must be renewed every three years.
