Class of 1963

BETHEL — Stephens High School class of 1963 invites classmates, friends and family to attend a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 24, at Rooster’s Road House.

Pie auction

OXFORD — Uptown Cruizahs will hold a pie auction from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 27, at Cruise Night at Tractor Supply Co., Route 26. Club members will auction off delectable concoctions to the highest bidder. This will be held weather permitting. The DJ will cajole bidders to outbid their friends and neighbors for freshly baked pies and possibly a cake or two.

On display will be  classic cars and trucks. Proceeds from cruise nights are donated to local charitable organizations. For more information, contact Les Wing at 890-0870.

Bridge results

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met June 17. A 7 table Mitchell movement was enjoyed.

Finishing first in flight A n/s were Kathy Burden (Augusta) and Maryann Trafton (Waterville) who also were first in flight B. Finishing second in flight A were Mike Quinn (Otisfield) and Nick Karamessinis (New Gloucester), third were Dave Kallander (Harrison) and Les Buzzell (Auburn)

Finishing second in flight B n/s were Priscilla Rooth (Brunswick) and Hazel Glazier (Norway), third were Bill Tedford (Casco) and Gail Brickel (Casco) who also were first in flight C.

Finishing first in flight A e/w were Lucille Theriault (Lewiston) and Fred LeTourneau (Winslow), second were Dick Allen (New Gloucester) and Richard Balian (Waterford) who also were first in flight B, third in A were Carol Correard (Denmark) and Helen Kenison (Bridgton) who also were first in flight C.

Finishing second in flight C were Cindy and Bob Kirchherr (South Paris) who also were third in flight B, third in C were Diana and Jim Fallon (Bridgton).

Rec volunteers

BRIDGTON — Bridgton Recreation is looking for volunteers for the Kids Katering program that provides free lunches for youth under 18 years on Mondays through Fridays from June 29 through Aug. 26.

Volunteers are needed from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to hand out meals and count the kids. On sunny days the program is held either at Highland Beach or at the Bridgton Community Center. On rainy days, it’s at the BCC.

A person may volunteer for one day or more. Three volunteers per day are needed; one must be able to drive. Tuesdays slots are already taken. Call Carmen at the Bridgton Community Center at 647-3116 to sign up.

Youth soccer

BRIDGTON — Youth Soccer forms are now available online on the Town of Bridgton website, www.bridgtonmaine.org/recreation.cfm, and also at the front desk of the town office.

This program will run once school has started. A $20 discount is applied to all forms postmarked or received by June 30.

Concert series

NORWAY — The Norway Rehab summer evening concert series on the lawn will feature Bill Lake at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 30. Open to the public. Bring lawn chairs.
