WILTON — Public memorial services for Vance A. Bryant were held at the Wiles Remembrance Center, Farmington, with the Rev. Ira Hall of the Bean’s Corner Baptist Church officiating. Special music included “Beyond the Sunset,” “The Dance” by Garth Brooks, “If You Get There Before I do” and the hymn, “The Old Rugged Cross,” sung by the Rev. Hall. The prose “The Dash” by Linda Ellis and a poem “There’s A New World Somewhere” were recited. His family took a “shortcut” to the cemetery in his VW convertible, meeting at Lakeview Cemetery, Wilton at 12:30 p.m., where committal services and full military honors by the Rev. Hall and members of the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 and the Lane Dube AMVETS Post 33 of Jay, as well as a military contingency from Camp Camps, were performed. Following services, a family reception was held at the Bean’s Corner Baptist Church vestry, hosted by the church’s hospitality committee.
