Neighborly Seniors
DIXFIELD — Neighborly Senior Citizens met on June 15 at the Dixfield Legion with a good attendance. The meeting was called to order by President Connie Tutlis. Entertainment was by 86-year member Albert Dupuis, who played several selections on the accordion. Albert has recently returned to this area from Connecticut.
Members voted to go to Cabbage Island on Aug. 14. There is still room; anyone wishing to go is asked to call Connie at 364-4189 for further information.
The annual TRIAD Picnic will be held on June 24 with the bus leaving Dixfield at 8 a.m. and Mexico at 8:10 a.m. with a pick up in Bethel. There is still room and anyone wishing to go is asked to call Connie.
The next meeting will be on July 20 with a potluck meal of cold sandwiches and salads. Entertainment will be by the Crosbys. The group meets on the third Wednesday of each month at the Dixfield Legion and new members are welcome. FMI, call Connie at the 364-4189.
Majorettes win
WEST PARIS — The West Paris Bobcat Juniorettes and Majorettes won first place their first year and the Grange first place honors. They performed on April 18 at the community service open house at Franklin Grange #124 and received a Grange certificate for excellence signed by Master Richard G. Felt and Lecturer Bertha DeHaas. Lisa Floster and Ann Hane put in many hours with the girls.
Clothing Center
HARTFORD — Hartford Community Church Clothing Center will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, and Saturday, July 16. The Clothing Center is located on Church Street, directly opposite the Hartford Community Church.
Strawberry fest
LOCKE MILLS — A strawberry festival will be held from 7:30 a.m. until sold out Saturday, July 2, at the Locke Mills Union Church. Belgian waffles, shortcake, sundaes, strawberries, pies, baked goods and trinkets and treasures will be available.
Dinner, dance
SOUTH PARIS — A turkey supper and dance with music by the Jones Dance Band will be held Saturday, July 2, at the Legion Hall, Church Street.
The supper will be served from 5 to 6 p.m. The dance will begin at 6:30. The cost for supper is $7. The cost for the dance is $5.
