Kennedy Park Aquatic Aide Nateasha Ouellette throws a football around with co-worker Stephanie Belanger to pass the time while waiting for kids to enter the area on a cold and drizzly Thursday afternoon. The pools opened Monday for the summer and will be open all summer from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided to children who sign up with the Parks and Recreation Department.
Ashton Merrill, 5, of Lewiston, runs through one of the fountains on the splash pad at Kennedy Park in Lewiston on Thursday afternoon. The pad and the swimming pool are open for the season. Children can also receive free breakfast and lunch. Pool hours are 1 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
