AUBURN — Frances J. Tripp Packard, 75, of West Poland, passed on Friday, June 24, surrounded with her loving family and best friend, Barb, by her side.

She was born July 18, 1935, in West Poland the daughter of Kenneth and Phyllis McMorran Tripp. She attended schools in Poland and Mechanic Falls, graduating from Mechanic Falls High School in 1953.

Fran worked as a secretary and waitress in her younger years. In the early 1980s she became a licensed Realtor in Connecticut and opened her own company when she returned to Maine.

On April 27, 1973, she married Corwin R. Packard. Together they spent many years enjoying homes in West Poland, Blue Hill and Greenwood, Maine, as well as in Florida.

She was an avid bridge player and also enjoyed playing tennis. Fran loved spending time entertaining family and friends. She always cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of the East Auburn Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Debra Pelchat, Andrea Whittier, Michael and Nancy Whittier, and Robert and Tammy Packard; her grandchildren, Benjamin, Samantha, Rebecca, Brian, David, Joel and Elizabeth; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Jacqueline Belanger and Sandra Nichols.

Fran was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Corwin, who died May 9, 2011; and her grandson Jason.
