Kate Race, principal of Philip W. Sugg Middle School in Lisbon, recently announced the recipients of the President’s Award for Educational Excellence. Pictured, from left, are Beckett Wagner, Ariana Kahler, Monica Austin and Mia Durgin, who were presented the award for the 2010-11 school year. The award recognizes academic success in the classroom. Students who meet the requirements of a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and achieve the schools’ criteria for standards reflecting the highest level of achievement on assessments are nominated for the award. Areas of high motivation, initiative, integrity, intellectual depth, leadership and good judgment are also considered during the nomination process.
