BETHEL — More than 60 artists will fill the Bethel Common with fine arts and artisan crafts on Saturday, July 2, for the 22nd Annual Bethel Art Fair.
The event, presented by the Mahoosuc Arts Council, will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with July 3 as a rain date.
Besides fine art and artisan craft exhibits, the fair will feature live entertainment and the eighth annual ARTirondack Auction, when handcrafted chairs painted with original designs by Maine artists will go on the block to raise money for arts-educational programs.
This year’s fair is dedicated to artist and “action philanthropist” Jewel Clark, who supports local causes and strives to improve Bethel’s quality of life through art.
Also on the Fourth of July weekend, the community will welcome the seventh annual Shy, Novice and Closeted Artisan Soiree and Art Show, a regional Open Space Gallery, tours of area studios and galleries from July 1-4; the 19th biennial “The Art of Quilting” show, historical society exhibits and the fifth International Piano Festival.
