LIVERMORE — Selectpersons voted recently to buy a 2012 Volvo truck chassis as part of the new dump truck purchase voters approved on June 16, administrative assistant Kurt Schaub said Monday.
The 2012 chassis, which is the truck without the dump body and plow equipment, will be purchased from the O’Connor dealership in Portland, he said.
The selling price of the chassis minus the $50,000 trade-in for the town’s Sterling is $57,730, Schaub said.
The board approved the purchase on June 20.
Selectpersons have not decided on the dump body or the plow equipment, he said.
Those parts will cost an estimated additional $70,000, he said.
It still leaves the whole truck price estimated at about $125,579 below the $185,000 voters authorized the town to borrow at the annual town meeting.
