FARMINGTON — The University of Maine at Farmington Honors Program recently held its third annual spring recognition and awards ceremony to acknowledge the accomplishments of its outstanding student scholars and the exemplary faculty and staff committed to their academic success. The UMF Honors Program provides student participants with the opportunity for increasingly challenging academic work in a supportive environment.

UMF’s Honors Program offers small seminar-style interdisciplinary courses that stress independent thinking, research and writing skills and oral expression. This year’s award recipients were recognized on three levels including: Honors Scholars, completing 20 honors class credits and an honors thesis; Certificate recipients, completing 16 honors class credits; and Pen recipients, completing 12 honors class credits.

Students honored include: Jennifer Bertino from Fryeburg, Kristen Bisson from Farmington, Kinda Lilley-Karkos from East Wilton, Chelsea Martin from Auburn, Mary Beth Moyer from Lewiston and Tyler Noyes from Auburn.
