LEWISTON — Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, 15 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, presented six outstanding individuals with Employee of the Year awards at the agency’s gathering in April. At the end of each year, AHCH recognizes and honors employees who have made outstanding contributions to the agency throughout the year. The recipients were nominated by their peers for exemplifying one or more of the agency’s values: integrity, stewardship, accountability, compassion, quality and trust.

Receiving the 2010 Employee of the Year award were:

Kathy Baillargeon, supervisor of volunteer services in the Lewiston office. She was nominated based on the agency value of accountability. She has excellent communication skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, intuition, technical skills, leadership, vision and creativity.

Denise Bernard, CNA at the Hospice House in Auburn. She was nominated for multiple agency values: compassion, integrity, accountability, quality and trust. She doesn’t hesitate to go above and beyond to make the world a better place.

Tammy Bisson, RN at the Hospice House in Auburn. She was nominated for the agency values of trust, integrity and accountability. She exhibits leadership skills, providing support and supervision for staff during transitions in leadership and many program changes.

Doreen Keenan, HR specialist at the Lewiston office. She was nominated for the many ways she demonstrates integrity, and she is also known for her consistently positive attitude.

Shane Levasseur, RN, Telehealth coordinator in the Lewiston office. He was nominated for the agency values of integrity, compassion, trust and quality. Known for outstanding clinical skills, communication skills and conscientious dedication, he coordinates with case managers to keep patients home, maintain optimal health and learn how to manage their disease.

Kathy Mercier, housekeeper at the Hospice House in Auburn. She was nominated for the agency value of stewardship as she always has the agency’s resources in mind as she performs her many responsibilities. Her positive outlook, sense of humor and compassion bring so much to the patients and families and staff.

Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice is a nonprofit, Medicare-certified agency that is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
