AUBURN — The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA has announced its session of summer swim lessons beginning the week of July 5. Members can register online at www.alymca.org.
The YMCA offers the following 30-minute swim lesson classes for children six months to age 5: Parent & Tot (6 months to three years); Water Babies (18-36 months); Tiny Tot Classes (2-5 years): Beginner and Advanced classes are offered; Pike (2-5 years); Ray (3-5 years); Starfish (3-5 years). Youth Progressive Lessons is a National YMCA Swim Lesson Program designed to improve children’s swimming skills, teach new skills, work on endurance and stroke techniques, as well as survival skills. Polliwog, Guppy, Minnow and Fish are 45-minute classes being offered to children ages 6-12. Shark swim class introduces competitive swimming to the highly skilled swimmer 10-18 years of age.
All YMCA aquatic programs are designed to instill confidence in participants and make learning new skills fun and challenging in a positive way.
