SABATTUS — Richard “Dick” Bellefleur Sr., 75, of Phelan Street, Sabattus, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 30, at his home.

He was born in St. Agatha on Sept. 22, 1935, a son of the late Octave and Margerite (Dumont) Bellefleur, of Frenchville.

Growing up as a young boy, he worked the potato fields to help support his family of six brothers and seven sisters. He later moved to Lewiston and married the love of his life, Donna Labbe, and together they raised three children.

He was employed at Bath Iron Works as a welder and Airco Repair. After he retired he worked at AD Electric and L. P. Poirier & Son. He was a hard worker and was always there to lend a helping hand to anybody in need. He was our jack-of-all-trades.

God must have needed something fixed in heaven and that’s why he called on our dad.

He lived a good life while on this Earth, filled with love and laughter. Dick was a pilgrim of St. Anne de Beaupre making this trip yearly with his family. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, traveling, working outdoors and spending time with his family, especially his great-grandson, Kaydo.
