POLAND SPRING — Lorette J. Jean, 80, a resident of Poland Spring, passed away Sunday, July 3, at the Hospice House in Auburn, with her husband, Roland, and her godson, Clem, by her side, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Lewiston July 10, 1930, the daughter of Eddie and Ida (Cote) Levesque. Lorette grew up in Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston High School.
She married her first husband, Bertrand Cloutier, on May 20, 1950. She was a lifelong parishioner of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. She enjoyed fishing with her sister, Rejane, and her sister-in-law, Jeannine. She was involved with Civil Defense, was a member of Les Dames de Ste. Anne, and was a Fourth Degree Auxiliary wife. She worked at Belgrade Shoe and Louis Chevrolet until her retirement.
On Jan. 21, 1998, she married her current husband, Roland Jean, and together they enjoyed their summers at Range Pond in Poland Spring and their winters in Fort Myers, Fla.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her sisters, Beatrice T. Lavertu of Auburn and Rejane S. Lemieux of Lewiston; a stepdaughter, Ann Marie and her husband, Harvey Boisvert, of Lewiston; a stepson, Ron Jean, of Hudson, N.H.; two step-grandchildren, Lea and Andrew Boisvert of Lewiston; a sister-in-law, Jeannine Cloutier, of Lewiston; three brother-in-laws, Eugene Guidotte of Poland Spring, Claude Cloutier and his wife, Monique, of Poland, Gerald Cloutier and his wife, Yolande, of Lewiston; and several godchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Bertrand Cloutier; a sister, Irene C. Guidotte; four brothers-in-law, John M. Lavertu, Laurent C.Lemieux, Roger and Larry Cloutier; and sister-in-law, Dolores Roy.
