LEWISTON —“Jekyll & Hyde,” the Broadway hit musical based on the classic novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, will close Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre’s 71st season.
Richard Martin will direct the play, opening Aug. 5 in Lewiston Middle School’s air-conditioned auditorium. Paul G. Caron is musical director with Katie St. Pierre as producer and Amelia Pullen as choreographer.
Playing the lead dual roles of Jekyll/Hyde is Shawn Robitaille. Female leads will be played by Kelsie Davidson as Emma Carew, Jekyll’s fiancee; and Angela Robitaille as Lucy Harris, a prostitute and the main attraction at The Red Rat.
Rounding out the cast are Derrick Lacasse as John Utterson, Mitchell Clyde Thomas as Sir Danvers Carew, Chris Camire as Simon Stride, Jim Merrill as Spider, Stefanie Lynn as Lady Beaconsfield, Phil Vampatella as Poole and Christine Doucette as Nelly.
Making up the ensemble and playing multiple roles are Sean Wallace, Ken Mansur, Phil Vampatella, Bob Mathieu, Scott Adair, Richard Russell, Bruce Gerry, Karen McArthur, Michelle Good, Tatiana Curtis, Sheal Cooper, Karen Loggins, Katie St. Pierre and Eileen Messina.
The production crew includes Michael Koch as stage manager, assisted by Amber Thibault and Christopher Belanger; Scott Powers, special effects; Rachel Morin, publicist; Larry French, sound design; and Joyce Coyne, set decor. Koch is also technical director and associate set designer; Belanger is also lighting assistant with Jacques Spellman. Martin is also light and set designer.
