LEWISTON — Music has always been prominent in Martin Swinger’s life. As early as first-grade, he began singing solos in public, and by his early teens began songwriting. Well-versed in the piano, ukulele and guitar, he has a 40-year musical career, including award-winning original songs, to his credit.

On Thursday, July 14, he will bring his engaging stage presence to Fountain Park on Mill Street, next to DaVinci’s Eatery, as part of L/A Arts’ free noontime summer concerts.

Swinger performs traditional and contemporary Americana music, swing and jazz standards, and improvisational music with the ensemble ImproVox.

A veteran of Boston Folk Festival and Kerrville Folk Festival, Martin is known for his vocal range, diverse repertoire and .

He has produced four CDs, “Scrapbook,” “Mockingbird,” “American Seeds” and “BearNAKED.” He emcees a stage for the annual “Day in Capitol Park” on the Maine State Capitol lawn, sings the national anthem for the State Senate and has performed at L.L. Bean’s Discovery Park.

If it should rain, the noon concert will be held at the Franco-American Heritage Center, 46 Cedar St.
