AUGUSTA —  The Maine Commission for Community Service has announced that the Maine Conservation Corps received AmeriCorps grant funds from the Corporation for National and Community Service. The grant will support more than 40 AmeriCorps members across the state that will provide environmental education to students and maintain trail systems across Maine.

The Maine Commission for Community Service will distribute more than $390,000 in funding to the Maine Conservation Corps who was selected in a highly competitive national process. In the fall the Maine Commission for Community Service will announce additional AmeriCorps grants supported by AmeriCorps formula funding.
