AUBURN — Ida R. Lacroix, 87, of Hancock Street, Rumford, died Tuesday, July 5, at the Hospice House following a brief illness, with her loving family at her side.

She was born in Rumford, April 7, 1924, a daughter of Joseph and Demarise (Leclerc) Martin. Ida was educated in Rumford schools and has lived locally all of her life.

She was employed for many years with Diamond Match in Dixfield and later at Fecteau’s Store in Rumford. Ida was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She loved family gatherings.

Surviving are her children, Rita R. Bradley and husband, Albert, of Rumford, Jeannette Chartier and husband, Roger, of Rumford and Claire Lacroix of Rumford; four grandchildren, Lisa Roy and husband, Joseph, Lori Roberts and husband, Dale, Lynn Frost and husband, David and Kevin Bradley and wife, Cecilia; six great-grandchildren, Adam Roy, Breana Roberts, Brandon Roberts, Travis Frost, Tyler Frost and Jake Ricci; a niece, Jeannette Gallant, a nephew, Fred St. Cyr; and many other nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Francois; six sisters, Alice, Rozilda, Rose, Laura, Margaret and Maria; and four brothers, Arthur, Willie, Joseph and Gideon.
