MONMOUTH — The Theater at Monmouth will present “Room Service,” a farce filled with silly situations and crazy hijinx, opening at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 15.

“ ‘Room Service’ is a comedy of distinct and fun characters brought together in a way that allows us to sit back and just enjoy the action,” said director David Greenham.

In the play, a group of actors try to produce what they believe to be a real hit play before a gaggle of creditors close in and shut them down. The 1937 Broadway version of “Room Service” inspired the Marx Brothers film.

A reception will be held after the show when audience members can enjoy complimentary food and drinks, and meet with the director and cast members.

“Room Service” will take place on July 16, 17 and 27; and Aug. 3, 6, 7, 12, 16 and 20. Tickets are $26 on opening night; all other performances are $24 for adults, $22 for seniors and matinees, $20 for students. For tickets, call 933-9999 or visit www.theateratmonmouth.org.

Marie Eife and Mark S. Cartier are cast members in Theater at Monmouth’s production of “Room Sevice,” which opens on July 15.
