LEWISTON — Nearly 250 loyal art enthusiasts flooded the downtown for Art Walk Lewiston-Auburn’s second event of the season, held June 24. In addition to new artwork from more than 30 artists, the group coordinated with local musicians from The Three Point Trio for an intimate jazz performance in Androscoggin Bank.
The next art walk is set for July 29.
L/A Arts, one of Art Walk Lewiston-Auburn’s supporting organizations, is working with the group to organize poetry, performance art and music for this and future events.
“At each Art Walk Lewiston-Auburn event, our goal is to bring an even greater diversity of talented artists to the table,” said co-organizer Michael Dostie.
The event led participants on an exploration of the downtown through self-guided tours of local arts venues. In addition to stops at Art Pulse and Captive Elements Art House, the hosts transformed Lewiston Public Library, the Lamey-Wellehan Shoes building and unused window spaces into art exhibits for the evening.
