Bob Veilleux of Lewiston splashes his wife Diane after crossing the finish line of the 13th annual Chief Worumbo Androscoggin River Race in Lisbon Sunday morning. “It was a safety situation with the heat and all,” Bob said. According to his wife, the best part was that they finished ahead of their three daughters. “They will never hear the end of it,” she said. Nearly 100 competitors enjoyed the perfect weather on the route between the boat launch on Route 136 in Durham and the finish line 6 miles later under Route 196 in Durham where the Sabattus River meets the Androscoggin. The race is part of the weekend-long Moxie Festival. For more photos from the race, visit www.sunjournal.com.
