MEXICO — Mexico First Baptist Church, 20 Roxbury Road, will host a special “Christmas in July” Vacation Bible School from 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 18-21. Children from preschool through 6th grade are invited to attend this four-day VBS. There will be skits, stories, snacks, games, crafts and special visitors who are the “stars” of the Christmas story.
Children will not only learn about the true meaning of Christmas, but will also learn about how the Christmas story can apply to our daily lives. In addition, traditions and activities that enhance how Christmas is celebrated in other countries will be taught.
As usual, there will be a Penny Drive competition — boys against girls. Virginia Mathieu is the Western Maine Director of Child Evangelism Fellowship, and one activity that she helps organize are the treat bags that are handed out during the Christmas in the Valley Parade. The children will have the opportunity to meet Virginia, and all of the money will be donated to help fund these treat bags.
