PARIS — Paul Parker was named Veteran of the Month for April at Maine Veterans’ Home, South Paris.

Parker was born on July 24, 1923, in Windham. He enlisted in the Army in 1943. He was honorably discharged in March of 1946. For his service Paul received the American Theatre Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal.

Paul came to the Maine Veterans’ Home in October of 2010. He routinely attends activities and some of his favorites are bingo, music, movies, arts and crafts and exercise class, which he can even start if someone is running behind. He loves helping out with the setting and clearing of the dining room and takes great pride in the appearance of the settings. He is a very upbeat man always pleasant and looking out for other residents.
