A quick-moving thunderstorm, with high winds and torrential rain, swept through Rumford on Wednesday afternoon and toppled a couple of tall trees on Pine Street, one of which landed on a house. This large maple tree knocked down a power line. Central Maine Power Co. responded to the scene at 4:44 p.m and began work to restore power.
