RUMFORD — Lawrence T. Dow, 80, of Hancock St., Rumford, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 16, at Rumford Hospital.
He was born Aug. 22, 1930, in Bridgewater, the son of Glen and Faye Terrell Dow. He attended schools in Bridgewater and Brooks and was a graduate of Mexico High School, Class of 1949.
Following graduation, he served four years in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He was employed at Boise Cascade for 40 years, and was a member of the 25- and 40-year club. He was a member of the VFW, Le Paresseux Snowshoe Club, American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his children, Kelly Blouin and husband, Michael, of Dixfield, Brenda Godin of Manchester, Mo., Steve Dow of Melbourne, Fla., Cleo Dow of Dixfield, Ric Lavoie of Eaton, Ga., and Holly Dow; a sister, Laura Jamison; a sister-in-law, Rowena Nickless; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was predeceased his parents; his beloved wife, Eleanor Tozier Dow; and a brother, Llewelyn.
