WILTON — Police say someone broke into a storage shed and stole a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle valued at $12,000 from Frechette’s Sales and Service on Routes 2 and 4 this weekend.

A shed at NAPA Auto and Truck Parts in East Wilton, about two miles east of Frechette’s, was also broken into but nothing taken, Nick Zecher, Wilton Police officer said.

Scott Frechette reported the theft of the motorcycle after opening the snowmobile sales and service shop at 9 a.m. Monday.  Police believe it was taken sometime between noon on Saturday and 9 a.m. Monday.

The suspect or suspects broke the lock to get into the shed at Frechette’s. The keys were left in the motorcycle. It was driven out but there was no license plate on it, he said.

This is the second time a storage shed at NAPA was broken into within the past couple months, Zecher said. Nothing was taken during either incident. The shed was broken into sometime between Saturday night and Monday morning.

Anyone with information about the break-ins or the Harley-Davidson is asked to call Wilton Police Department at 645-3876.
