PORTLAND — Maurice George LeCours, 76, was a beloved husband and father and will be greatly missed. A lifelong resident of Rumford, he died on July 15 at Maine Medical Center.
He was born on June 19, 1935, at the Rumford Hospital. Son of Albert and Alice LeCours, he attended St. John’s School and Stephens High School in Rumford.
He retired in 1993, after 40 years of service, from Boise Cascade Paper Mill in Rumford, where he was a pipe fitter. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a jet mechanic. He was a member of the BPO Elks and the American Legion Post 24.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy S. LeCours; daughters, Deborah and her husband, Dan Stiles and Kelly Briggette; sons, Maurice LeCours and his wife, Carol, Paul LeCours and his wife, Lori, Larry LeCours, Chris LeCours and his wife, Deborah, Kenny Briggette and his wife, Peggy, and Kevin Briggette and his wife, Kathy; his grandchildren, Danielle Erickson, Alishia Hadar, Eric LeCours, PJ LeCours, Crystal Johnson, Christina LeCours, Jessica LeCours, Adam LeCours, Sheila Stultz, April Stultz, Sean Stultz, Laura Briggette, Christopher Briggette and Magen Briggette; and 13 great-grandchildren.
