Double Dollars
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Farmers’ Market has announced that the popular Double Dollars program for EBT/SNAP and WIC customers is back again.
This program organized through the St. Mary’s Nutrition Center allows customers to earn one “market dollar” for every dollar spent at the market with their EBT/SNAP card or WIC coupons, up to $10. Market Dollars can then be spent at any of the three Lewiston Farmers’ Markets just like cash for any healthy food (fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese, dairy, seafood or whole grain bread.) That is potentially $10 worth of free healthy food every week.
For more information visit the information booth at any of the markets or call 513-3844. Markets are held every Tuesday from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at Kennedy Park, Bates and Pine streets; every Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital, Campus Avenue and Lafayette Street; and every Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bates Mill 5, Main and Lincoln streets.
