AUBURN — Joshua Klein-Golden of Lisbon Falls was appointed judge of probate for Androscoggin County by Gov. Paul LePage on Tuesday.

His appointment doesn’t become official until he returns paperwork, according to a copy of a letter from the governor’s office released Tuesday. The paperwork must be returned by Aug. 18 after Klein-Golden has sworn an oath of office, according to the letter.

His appointment fills the vacancy left by the late Robert Couturier.
