WILTON — Downtown comes to life in the evening with another Third Thursday event this week.

The July 21 event planned from 5:30 to 8 p.m. offers a special feature, Music by Mad Louie, a favorite of young and old alike, organizers said. He will perform throughout the evening in the parking area next to Key Bank.

Rides around Wilton in antique cars will be available, and participants can enjoy the Taste of Wilton, sampling the specialties of town cooks.

Boy Scouts will race their sailboats and tours through the Bass-Wilson Building and the Farm and Home Museum are available.

There’ll be a firetruck ready to explore, and new this Third Thursday, a dunk tank.

Proceeds from many of the events will go toward the restoration of the Farm and Home Museum.

Dick Hensold will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the First Congregational Church. Hensold specializes in the traditional Scottish music of Cape Breton Island. The performance highlights one of America’s finest and most unusual traditional bagpipers.
