AUGUSTA — Steven Pelletier of Lewiston won his event in the Maine USA Track and Field open and master’s state championship meet Sunday at Cony High School.

Once again Lewiston Recreation Department’s lone representative in the meet, Pelletier topped the men’s javelin in the 60-64 age group with a throw of 144 feet, 11 inches. This was 17 feet further than the age qroup All-American standard of 127-11.

In his previous meet, Pelletier qualified with a throw of 129-8.

Additionally, Pelletier solidified an age group Masters National ranking in the top 20. He is currently ranked 11th.

Pelletier looks forward to his next meet at the Maine Senior games August 6 in Scarborough.
