LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library has announced expanded hours for their evening Language Learning Lab sessions. The library’s computer lab is now open Monday through Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for language learning with the Rosetta Stone language program.

Rosetta Stone is an award-winning program that provides an immersion-like, interactive learning experience. The software is easy to use and once a learner is set up with an account, the learning takes place in a self-paced, self-directed environment. Rosetta Stone language learning at LPL is offered in six languages: English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese and Italian.

The language learning software is only available on computers in the LPL computer lab, either during the Downtown Education Collaborative’s Digital Divide lab sessions (Mondays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) or during Language Learning Nights.

For more information on using Rosetta Stone, contact the LPL Reference Desk at 513-3135 or email them at [email protected].
