FARMINGTON — Ida M. Carsley, 99, of New Vineyard, died early Wednesday, July 20, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
She was born in New Sharon, May 24, 1912, a daughter of Alton and Lena (Rackliff) Merry and attended Farmington schools.
She worked at local drug stores for many years and she and her late husband owned and operated Carsley’s Store in New Vineyard, until their retirement. Mrs. Carsley enjoyed playing her piano and cooking her favorite recipes.
She is survived by her two children, Elizabeth Pike of New Vineyard and Blaine Noonan and his wife, Cindy, of Boothbay Harbor; grandchildren, Tristan of Portland and Kristopher of Boothbay Harbor; nieces, Carolee Merrill of New Vineyard and Joan Wheeler of Chesterville; and nephews, Alton Carter of Industry, Bryce Merry of South China, Rodney Stewart of Belgrade and Sonny Stewart of Temple.
She was predeceased by a niece, Roberta Palmer; her sisters, Alice Stewart and Rose Carter; brothers, Henry Merry and Clinton Merry; and her husbands, William Noonan and Cecil Carsley.
