LEWISTON — The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul’s noonday concerts continues at 12:15 p.m., Wednesday, July 27,  with a concert by cellist Benjamin Noyes.

Noyes has traveled extensively in pursuit of his musical education. Originally from Maine, he studied in Boston before moving to attend the School of the Arts, a magnet high school in San Francisco. After graduating, he was selected by Yo-Yo Ma to participate as soloist and recitalist throughout China, performing with the Beijing, Chengdu, Shenzen and Shanghai Symphony Orchestras. He received his BM from Rice University and his MM from Northwestern University playing under numerous maestros, including Pierre Boulez and Mstislav Rostropovich, and winning top awards in many competitions. His performances cross solo, recital, chamber ensemble, concert and nonclassical venues and genres in addition to sharing his passion for the arts as a teacher, coach and motivator of all ages and professions.

Benjamin’s program at the Basilica will include works by Bach, Saint-Seans, Vaughan-Williams and Arvo Part.
