LEWISTON — Hector Russell Levasseur, 68, of Lewiston, formerly a longtime Auburn resident, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 22, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born on July 12, 1943, to Hector L. and Louise K. (Higginbotham) Levasseur. Hector attended Lewiston schools and later moved to New York, where he met the love of his life, Susan Osborne. They married shortly thereafter and moved to Auburn to raise their family. Throughout his life, Hector worked extremely hard, but also knew to live life to the fullest and enjoy his time with family and friends. He treasured time spent relaxing, boating, dancing, and riding his Harleys. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him as he had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.

He is survived by his brothers, Bob and Paul Levasseur; sisters, Judy Simpson, Carol Boudreau and Laurie DeRaspe; his children, Stacy of Lewiston, Jeff and his wife, Danielle, of Turner and Shane and his wife, Melissa, of Auburn; he will be terribly missed by his grandchildren, Ashley, Alexandria, Samantha, DJ, Jeffrey, Liam, Colby and Rhys.

He was predeceased by his wife, Susan in 2001.
