ANDOVER — The Andover Elementary School will have two new veteran teachers, Tracy Morin and Beth Clarke, in the classroom when school begins Aug. 31.
“I am very pleased to be able to inform you that I approved transfer requests from two experienced and successful elementary school teachers to move to the Andover School for the coming year,” David W. Murphy, superintendent of schools for SAD 44 in Bethel, said.
Clarke will be the the kindergarten/grade one teacher, and if she is approved, she may become the school’s teaching principal.
Clarke, who recently completed a master’s degree in school administration and is fully certified to be a school administrator, brings to AES considerable successful experiences within the school district, Murphy said.
Clarke’s previous district teaching experience includes serving as a Title 1 teacher at Crescent Park School and helping to coordinate the Title 1 program throughout SAD 44.
Morin will teach grades four and five. She has a master’s degree in math, has taught fourth- and fifth-graders at Bethel’s Crescent Park Elementary School and served as an elementary math curriculum leader.
“Growing up both teachers had the opportunity to attend elementary schools in small school settings,” Murphy said. “Ms. Clarke grew up in a community that had schools with a single class for each grade level,” he said, “and Mrs. Morin attended a small two-room elementary school. They are both excited to have the opportunity to teach in Andover.”
There will be an opportunity before the school year begins for parents, students and community members to visit the elementary school and meet the two new teachers, Murphy said.
