LEWISTON — Lewiston Adult Education will offer academic classes this fall to help members of the community complete their high school diploma, earn their GED or prepare for college. Credit-bearing diploma classes can also qualify as college/nursing school prerequisites.
Academic classes offered this fall will include algebra I, chemistry and English writing workshop, as well as credit-bearing independent study opportunities in U.S. history, government and math. Lewiston Adult Education will also be offering an online course in anatomy and physiology.
The College Transition Program will also be available at no cost to adults interested in entering a two- or four-year degree program. The program is designed to help adult students review the reading, writing and math skills needed to do college-level work. The program will also help participants develop effective study skills and habits. Students will get support completing their college and financial aid application forms, and learn about scholarships available to adults entering college.
Classes start as early as Aug. 23. Visit www.lewistonadulted.org or call 795-4141 for more information.
