PORTLAND — Boreal Tordu, a Maine-based band offering acoustic instrumental and vocal stylings rooted in the traditional music of the Acadians, will perform Saturday, Aug. 6, at One Longfellow Square.

Also playing will be Round Mountain, aka brothers Char and Robby Rothschild of Santa Fe, New Mexico, multi-instrumentalists whose performances bridge folk and world genres.

The Rothschild siblings weave elements of world music into their original songs, with lyrics that evoke the emotion of family. They play a multitude of instruments from around the world, often playing several at one time.

Boreal Tordu, founded by Acadian cousins fiddler/accordionist Steve Muise and singer-songwriter and dobro player Rob Sylvain, also features Pip Walter on guitar and backing vocals, and Andy Buckland on upripght bass.
