Nature Club
OXFORD — The Twin Town Nature Club will meet at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, in the Walmart parking lot (south side near Route 26) and proceed to the Shaker Village, New Gloucester, for a tour of their facilities. OTISFIELD — The Food Pantry will be open from from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Spurrs Corner Church, Route 121. PARIS — The Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, at the First Congregational Church, South Paris, for a brief meeting about Oxford County Fair. Then the group will carpool for a trip to the Knitters Korner in Standish.

Summer breakfast
WATERFORD — The third in a series of four summer breakfasts will take place from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the Wilkins Community House at the foot of Plummer Hill Road next to the church.
The Waterford summer breakfast tradition is in its 58th year. The food is fresh, cooked right on site, and includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, pancakes, freshly made muffins, donuts, orange juice and coffee. The price is $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 5 to 10 and free for children under 5. The final of the four breakfasts will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 17.
There will be an indoor yard sale in the Wilkins Community House basement from 7 to 11 a.m. on the day of the breakfast.
All proceeds from the breakfasts and the yard sales go to the Buildings Maintenance and Improvement Fund.
Sing, celebrate
WATERFORD — The Waterford Congregational Church on Plummer Hill in Waterford Flat invites the public to “An Evening of Song and Celebration” which will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3.
Meet the new pastor, Kim Marie , and join in singing hymns, folk music and guitar performances, featuring Rev. Tom Myhre, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church in South Paris, and Jane Morse, director of music at the church. Following the singing and music, everyone is invited to the Wilkins House next door for an ice cream sundae social featuring Irene’s famous hot fudge sauce. Mini-shore dinner
NORWAY — The Second Congregational Church, UCC, 205 Main St., will hold a Mini-Shore Dinner from 5 to 6:30 pm. Friday, Aug. 5. The menu will include their famous clear meat lobster rolls, chowder, corn on the cob, cole slaw, watermelon, gingerbread and drinks. A hot dog meal will be available for children. This is the sixth in the series of “First Friday Fantastic Family Feasts.” The public is invited.
The cost will be $15 for the mini-shore dinner and $3.50 for the hot dog meal. “Fantastic Family Feasts” usually sell out. Takeout will be available. Proceeds will benefit the general fund.
The Second Congregational Church, U.C.C. is an open and affirming congregation. They welcome all to worship, study and join in fellowship. Summer worship is every Sunday at 9 a.m. For more information, call the church office at 743-2290.

HARTFORD — Hartford Community Church Clothing Center will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, and Saturday, Aug. 20. The Clothing Center is located on Church Street directly opposite the Hartford Community Church.
Blueberry fest
LOCKE MILLS — The annual Blueberry Festival will be held Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Locke Mills Union Church, from 7:30 to 11 a.m. or sold out. Available will be blueberry pancakes, sundaes, pies, blueberries, baked goods and trinkets and treasures.
Church fair
SOUTH PARIS — There will be a church fair from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at South Paris Universalist Church on Pine Street, with sales of homemade baked foods, hand-worked items, collectibles and antiques. Luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a choice of lobster salad roll or chicken salad roll with chips, cole slaw, drinks and hot fudge brownies. The lunch will cost between $6 and $8.
Fish, chips, chowder
SUMNER-The Congregational Church of East Sumner will have a Fish and Chips and Chowder supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6. There will be cream of broccoli chowder and fish chowder and cole slaw. For the kids, there will be red hot dog boats. This is a community supper. Donations are gratefully accepted to help with the work of the church. FMI: Peggy at 388-2074.
