Plan now to join us for the last official bash of the season! Regardless of whether you’re an auto enthusiast, this event has something for everyone! Save the dates of August 26-28, invite friends, and make a weekend of it at the Farmington Fairgrounds.

The celebration kicks off Friday night with the infamous Texas Hold ‘Em poker tourney! Rules will begin at 6 p.m. in the Beano Building, and things won’t slow down from there. The tournament is capped at 100 players, so be sure to grab your tickets soon! At just $55 per player, with 75% payout of all proceeds, the opportunity to ‘win big’ is here. Call Ivan at 207-491-5074 FMI, or stop by the Chamber office to get your tix today. (This is a 21+ event).

Saturday will begin with registration at 9 a.m. for the Raffle Run. Join an eclectic mix of motorcycle aficionados on a group tour through the western mountains. Cash prize raffles to be drawn en route. Tickets are just $5 for Chamber members, $10 otherwise.

Then at noon, the event shifts into high gear with the Chamber’s 1st annual Battle of the Bands! Come out and show your support of our area’s talented musicians. Applications are still being accepted, so if you or someone you know wants to take a shot at the grand prize, visit franklincountymaine.org and submit your band info. The winning band will receive $250 cash, and a two-song demo, to be provided by Stan Howard of Abram Audio. Registration begins at 11 am, and tickets are just $5 at the gate ($3 in advance, available now) to attend. BOTB tickets also good for the Grid Iron Burnout, to begin at 5 p.m.

The evening burnout competition challenges motorcyclists to maximize the amount of time they can stay up on their rear tire to create as much smoke and noise as possible (what fun would it be otherwise?). This event will again feature the crowd moving sounds of Disco Bull DJ Services! Leslie expertly entertains with a little something for everyone, so don’t miss the chance to join the party. There is a $10 entry fee for participants, with a chance at cash and great prizes.

On Sunday, it’s the return of the Car & Bike Show. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., and preregistration is encouraged for a discount ($5 per entry in advance; $7 at the gate.) Forms are available on the Chamber website. Admission for the day is $3 for adults and free for children under 12 when accompanied by an adult. Event t-shirts are available to the general public by pre-order.

Financial supporters are needed and welcomed for this great weekend event, just contact the Chamber office for details.

Food vendors will be onsite all weekend to offer your crowd a variety of affordable, delicious treats! Breakfast will be available through the Sugar Shack, starting at 8 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Cash bar also on site. All events are open to the public, events run rain or shine.
