LEWISTON — William Greenlaw Jr. of Lewiston died after a brief illness at the d’Youville Pavilion on July 28.

Bill was born on June 5, 1936, in Auburn and educated in Auburn schools. He was the son of William and Ruth Greenlaw, who are now deceased. He served in the U.S. Army and did a tour of duty in the Philippines in the early 1950s.

Upon his return from his military duty, he worked locally at Koss Shoe shop. He also lived and worked in Massachusetts, for many years relocating back to Maine, which he loved.

He is survived by three sisters, Mary Haskell, Roberta Greenlaw and Sandy Donaghy, whom he loved dearly; many nieces, nephews and two brothers.

A family of many siblings, he was predeceased by eight sisters.

With much gratitude to the staff and nurses at d’Youville Pavilion for their comfort, care and affection while he lived there; also to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for the comfort, care and compassion in meeting Bill’s and his family’s needs during his illness. Funeral arrangements are private.
