On the July 23 opinion page, syndicated columnist Froma Harrop wrote about groups of fanatics whom she believes threaten candidates’ futures.
She wrote of the marriage pledge which is, of course, a bit over the top. Forget it. Most Republicans will.
But the idea that the no-new-taxes pledge is damaging to the country can be debated.
While on the subject of what is damaging to the country, concern should be redirected to a governing party (Democratic) that hasn’t passed a budget in two years, and has not put forward any plan at all to solve the crisis created by overspending.
Sniping from the sidelines does not constitute governance, and that, therefore, is damaging to the country.
